In response to the global call for net zero, our mission is to reduce carbon emissions through development projects in the coastal communities most vulnerable to the effects of climate change.
Not all carbon offsets are created equal
In the complex landscape of carbon offsets, it can be difficult to gauge the true impact and future value of a carbon offset project. We focus on the planting of new mangroves in regions with significant deforestation and degradation. Mangroves sequester carbon at rates of up to 5 times those of terrestrial forests and can store that carbon for significantly longer periods of time.
Community Led Development
The funding for reforestation projects provides an incredible opportunity not only to combat climate change but help those most affected by it. In coordination with Mais-Community joint committees, funding will be allocated not only to provide jobs in the reforestation project but create sustainable economic development for the long-term.
Over time, we aim to plant over 50 million mangrove trees, helping to address the climate crisis and transforming the livelihoods of local communities
